About the Artist
Emily Chen (b. 1985) is an award-winning abstract artist known for her bold colors and dynamic compositions that explore themes of movement and emotion. Born in San Francisco to a family of artists, Chen was immersed in the creative world from an early age. She received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA from Yale University. Now based in New York, Chen's work has been exhibited in galleries across the United States and Europe. Her paintings are characterized by vibrant color palettes, energetic brushstrokes, and a delicate balance between chaos and control. Drawing inspiration from urban landscapes, natural phenomena, and human emotions, Chen creates abstract compositions that invite viewers to form their own interpretations and connections. Chen has received numerous awards and grants, including the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. Her work is held in several private and public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

"My work explores the intersection of color, movement, and emotion. Through abstract compositions, I aim to create visual experiences that resonate on a visceral level, inviting viewers to form their own interpretations and connections. Each painting is a journey of discovery, a balance between intention and intuition, control and spontaneity."
